Job description

The Lead Structural Engineer for Ports & Maritime at Jacobs will play a crucial role in delivering complex maritime infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions. The engineer will focus on operational improvement, port planning, and engineering design, contributing to projects for clients such as the Port of Virginia and the US Navy. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Commonwealth of Virginia, or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months
  • 10+ years of experience in ports & maritime planning and design
  • 5+ years managing design teams and/or delivering multi-disciplinary engineering assignments
  • Experience with structural modeling software and AutoCAD

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and/or lead the development of technical proposals for maritime projects
  • Oversee engineering design teams to deliver cost-effective solutions for Ports and Maritime clients
  • Play a key technical role in new and ongoing projects for the Port of Virginia and other clients
  • Manage multiple tasks and project design teams independently
  • Collaborate in-person with the existing Ports and Maritime team and client base
