Job description

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Previous professional experience working on multi-discipline infrastructure projects with an emphasis on roadway design
  • Experience with highway design including horizontal and vertical alignment, intersection layout, drainage, traffic signals, and cross sections
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Previous Department of Transportation (DOT), County or Municipal experience
  • Ability to develop project work plans, fee estimates, and schedules
  • Proficiency and prior experience with MicroStation and Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in preparation of associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work with design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans
  • Previous experience conducting criteria research, writing specifications, and assisting with permitting
  • Ability to ensure Jacobs quality control practices through all phases of design and plans production
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills

  • Assist with client coordination and ensure project deadlines are met
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other agencies
