Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required
  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering is required
  • 1-3 years of experience on geotechnical projects
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for work
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills including CADD and Microsoft Office
  • A driver’s license and reliable vehicle will be required

Responsibilities

  • Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings and rock coring
  • Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures and foundations
  • Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles
  • Design shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures
  • Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses
  • Perform Finite Element modeling using PLAXIS and/or FLAC
  • Develop geotechnical reports and pavement design
  • Design ground improvement techniques and develop contract documents
  • Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams
