Job description
The Geotechnical Engineer role at Jacobs involves working in the Morristown, New Jersey office as part of the Geotechnical Group for the Northeast region. The engineer will follow projects from concept through construction, ensuring the design and implementation of geotechnical solutions. Requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- A BS in Civil Engineering is required, with an MS in Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Experience in field assignments, including soil and rock borings and laboratory testing, is necessary.
- Knowledge of designing shallow and deep foundations and earth retaining structures is required.
- A Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design shallow and deep foundations as well as earth retaining structures.
- Implement slope stabilizing measures and liquefaction mitigation strategies.
- Generate geotechnical-based drawings and specifications.
- Prepare data, baseline, and interpretative reports.
- Coordinate the design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring.
