Job description

The Lead Process Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planning and designing water and wastewater treatment plants in Ohio and the surrounding region. This role involves overseeing process mechanical teams and providing leadership on various projects. The engineer will work closely with municipal clients to develop innovative solutions for their water and wastewater challenges. Additionally, the position requires collaboration with other project disciplines and mentoring junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a similar degree from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in process mechanical design of water and wastewater systems
  • Holds an active professional engineering (PE) license
  • Experience with National Building Codes, EPA regulations, and 10 States Standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design water and wastewater treatment plants, including specifications and drawings for upgrades and expansions
  • Prepare general arrangement drawings for treatment equipment and tanks, and design piping and pumping systems
  • Evaluate and select equipment, piping materials, and valves, and assist with facility layouts
  • Develop calculations, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and construction documents
  • Coordinate with other project disciplines and direct the work of CAD designers
