The Senior Electrical Engineer at Jacobs will focus on designing and specifying electrical systems for water and wastewater treatment facilities. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license and ability to be licensed in multiple states
- 10 years of experience in professional design and preparing contract documents for complex electrical systems associated with water projects
- Solid understanding of applicable industry electrical codes and standard practices, including the National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA requirements
- Hands-on knowledge and design proficiency in electrical standards, codes, and vendor equipment options
Responsibilities
- Design and specify electrical systems for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment facilities
- Lead in preparing contract documents for plans, specifications, and cost estimates for complex projects
- Perform power system studies for electrical systems including load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash
- Conduct field visits and site investigations for public and private clients
- Provide services during construction including submittal reviews and response to Contractor's requests for information
- Collaborate with multi-discipline teams across multiple office locations
- Develop basis of design reports and technical memorandums
- Mentor junior staff and assist in business development opportunities
