Job description

The Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater role at Jacobs involves working on a variety of water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance and treatment planning and design projects. The position is based in Boston, Massachusetts, and is part of a growing team focused on addressing complex water challenges. The engineer will support senior engineers and project managers in delivering municipal water projects while fostering personal and professional growth. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering discipline is required.
  • At least 3 years of consulting experience for water and wastewater clients is necessary.
  • Experience in serving various clients involving drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems is essential.
  • Demonstrated understanding of water and wastewater conveyance and/or treatment processes and technologies is required.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office Suite and experience in AutoCAD and ESRIArcGIS is required.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work with a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater design projects.
  • Participate in planning, cost development and management, and scheduling for assigned projects and tasks.
  • Coordinate project assignments with other engineers and technicians within the local and regional water group.
  • Complete civil design calculations for a variety of projects, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as required.
  • Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Participate in professional organizations for marketing, industry recognition, networking, and building the Jacobs brand.
