The Senior Structural Engineer will join Jacobs' Northwest based Ports and Maritime Group, working on waterfront and transportation projects globally. This role involves leading and mentoring staff engineers while managing the design, analysis, and delivery of various marine structures. The engineer will engage in both rehabilitation and new construction projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes through collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team. Requirements
- 10-15 years of experience in Structural Engineering
- Professional Engineer License or the ability to obtain one within one year
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
- In-depth knowledge of structural analysis and design principles
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards such as AASHTO and ASCE
- Expertise in finite element analysis software like SAP2000 or RISA3D
- Experience in preparation of project specifications
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and analysis of marine structures such as piers and wharves
- Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports
- Develop innovative solutions for complex engineering challenges
- Conduct site inspections and assessments of existing marine structures
- Lead the preparation of project proposals and engineer's cost estimates
- Interface with clients and subconsultants, providing presentations as necessary
