Job description
The Instrumentation and Controls Engineer will join the Latham, New York team at Jacobs, contributing to projects that support semiconductor manufacturing and advanced research facilities. This role involves collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team to design and optimize control systems for various processes. The engineer will ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards while developing essential documentation. This position offers hands-on experience and mentorship to enhance technical skills in process control, instrumentation, and automation.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of work experience designing Instrumentation and Control Systems
- Working knowledge of PLC, PAC, DDC, and DCS systems
- Ability to work onsite in Latham, NY
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is preferred
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) is ideal
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Responsibilities
- Develop P&IDs and size valves for control systems
- Specify instrumentation and design control panels
- Document and model design information while ensuring compliance with standards
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete solutions
- Contribute innovative ideas and best practices to the team
