Job description

The Senior Highway Design Engineer role at Jacobs focuses on planning, designing, and delivering complex transportation projects in Atlanta, Georgia. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 9+ years of progressive professional experience in infrastructure, roadway, and/or highway design
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or the ability to obtain Georgia PE licensure
  • Strong understanding of geometric design principles, design standards, and industry best practices

Responsibilities

  • Lead and perform advanced roadway and highway geometric design using MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer
  • Develop and oversee roadway plans, traffic control plans, technical reports, and design related calculations
  • Provide senior level coordination with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and client stakeholders
  • Review and validate construction drawings, specifications, quantities, and cost estimates to ensure accuracy, constructability, and quality
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, offering technical direction and supporting skill development
