The Water Treatment Engineer will join Jacobs' Florida Water team, focusing on the design and optimization of drinking water and reuse facilities. This role aims to protect communities and advance sustainable water supply through innovative engineering solutions. The engineer will lead process evaluations and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions. Mentorship of junior engineers and client engagement are also key aspects of this position.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 10–15+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater process engineering, with a focus on drinking water and/or reuse.
- Hands-on experience with membrane treatment and at least one advanced treatment method.
- Strong client-facing communication skills and a proven track record of delivering quality design documentation.
Responsibilities
- Lead process evaluation, design, and optimization for drinking water and reuse treatment systems.
- Plan and oversee pilots, bench testing, and data analysis, translating findings into design documentation.
- Guide commissioning and startup processes, troubleshoot operations, and support digital tools for performance improvement.
- Develop technical specifications, select equipment, and conduct submittal reviews with a focus on quality assurance.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers while fostering a collaborative team culture.
