Job description
The Mechanical Field Engineer will work on projects that support the core operations of data center sites in Spartanburg, South Carolina. This role involves close collaboration with client owners and on-site personnel in a dynamic environment. The engineer will be responsible for designing and evaluating mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing, while ensuring compliance with quality standards. The position requires strong organizational skills and a passion for construction and engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
- At least 3 years of practical application of mechanical facilities design engineering
- Ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Solid knowledge of building codes and related standards
Responsibilities
- Review vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
- Perform field inspections and audits to verify compliance with contract documents
- Track and document non-conformance reports and oversee corrective actions
- Collaborate with contractors and project teams to enforce quality standards
- Support pre-installation meetings, punch lists, and final inspections
