Job description

The Entry Level Structural/Jr. Engineer position at Jacobs is an exciting opportunity for recent graduates to join a growing team focused on Federal delivery and expanding into the private sector. The role involves working on diverse projects, including the design of new multi-building complexes and renovations of historic structures. As part of the team, you will perform calculations and analyses while collaborating with designers and engineers. This position offers mentorship and the chance to develop a solid foundation in Structural Engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Ideally, a Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering
  • Experience with STAAD, Navisworks, and Bluebeam is preferred
  • Familiarity with US building codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, and AISC

Responsibilities

  • Work on the design of new multi-building complexes and full-scale renovations of historic structures
  • Perform increasingly complex calculations and analyses as structural designs are developed
  • Collaborate with Designers to communicate structural requirements effectively
  • Assist in the performance of structural analysis and design for various projects
  • Manage your own workload and meet commitments related to schedule, budget, and quality
