Job description

The Structural Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on projects related to Data Centers, including new builds and retrofits. As part of the Advanced Manufacturing team, you will collaborate with a diverse group of engineers and designers on various capital projects. This role emphasizes technical growth and leadership opportunities within the organization. You will be responsible for performing structural engineering assignments and liaising with other professionals for project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in structural engineering
  • Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to become registered in additional states
  • Pre-cast building or garage experience
  • Knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCad, Revit, MicroStation, and S3D
  • Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA or STAAD
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, AIST Technical Report 13, and other industry relevant design codes and standards
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite software including MS Teams for remote coordination
  • Ability for travel to various client sites (approx. 10% to 20% travel)

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of structural analysis and calculations for member designs and foundations.
  • Create computer models for structures and prepare material take-offs for estimating.
  • Assist with schedules and preparation of miscellaneous calculations.
  • Coordinate designs with other Jacobs offices both domestically and internationally.
  • Contribute to various size capital projects as a key asset within the team.
