Job description

The Piping Project Engineer role at Jacobs focuses on performing pipe stress analysis and developing AutoPIPE analysis models for various piping systems. The engineer will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure project delivery aligns with schedule and budget constraints. This position offers the opportunity to engage in projects related to semiconductor and advanced manufacturing facilities. Candidates will be expected to leverage their expertise to enhance the design and installation of piping systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 8 years of experience working on manufacturing projects
  • Professional Engineering license is preferred
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

  • Perform pipe stress analysis and develop AutoPIPE analysis models for piping systems.
  • Determine pipe stresses on metal and plastic piping using automated tools and visual analysis.
  • Generate pipe stress summary deliverables using standard software.
  • Select pipe supports for metal and plastic piping from catalog supports and design engineered supports when required.
  • Work with piping and structural team members to suggest variations to the piping design to reduce pipe stress loads.
