Job description

The Senior Civil Engineer - Aviation role at Jacobs involves supporting airfield civil engineering projects within the growing Aviation Team in NY/NJ. The position focuses on executing 3D modeling of surfaces, airports, and pipelines, while also developing detailed construction drawings for civil projects. The engineer will collaborate with multiple design disciplines and mentor less experienced civil technicians. This role is pivotal in ensuring that designs meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Substantial years of experience in a professional civil engineering setting.
  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is required; PE license or ability to obtain one in NY/NJ is preferred.
  • Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and airfield design requirements.
  • Experience in designing airfield/site civil projects including alignments, profiles, and drainage.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively communicate with project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Develop site civil designs for airfield projects, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
  • Create surface models for airfield projects using Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure designs meet specifications.
  • Manage and organize documents using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC).
  • Assist in developing design plans for airfield projects and other civil design tasks.
  • Support project teams in meeting schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Review and interpret survey data for integration into design models.
