Job description
The Mid-Level Geotechnical Engineer role at Jacobs involves working within a collaborative team to support geotechnical projects across Texas. The position focuses on the development and implementation of geotechnical data collection programs and analyses, as well as preparing reports and contract documents. The engineer will engage in field explorations and construction monitoring, contributing to various water and transportation-related projects. This role offers the opportunity to work with innovative engineers and advance technical capabilities within the regional office.
Requirements
- At least 4+ years of geotechnical consulting experience with water and transportation related projects.
- Experience in field assignments that include observation of explorations and laboratory testing of soils and rock.
- Design and installation of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring.
- Preparation of calculations packages, technical reports, design drawings, and specifications.
- BS in Civil Engineering is required.
- Experience with Plaxis is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee geotechnical field explorations, including test borings and cone penetration testing.
- Perform construction monitoring of earth retaining structures and deep foundations.
- Prepare boring logs and subsurface profiles.
- Design shallow and deep foundations and earth-retaining structures.
- Perform liquefaction and consolidation settlement analyses.
- Develop geotechnical engineering reports and contract documents.
- Work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams from across North America.
