Job description
The Senior Electrical Engineer for Aviation at Jacobs will play a crucial role in supporting airfield engineering projects in New York and New Jersey. This position involves designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of electrical systems for airfields, including lighting and navigation aids. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering and a deep understanding of aviation standards. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulations and successful project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Substantial years of experience in a professional electrical engineering setting.
- EIT certification is required; PE license or ability to obtain it in NY/NJ is preferred.
- Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and airfield design requirements.
- Experience with design software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit, or ETAP.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for airfields, including lighting and navigation aids.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications for airfield electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with aviation standards and local building codes.
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to evaluate existing electrical infrastructure.
- Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and project managers on airfield designs.
