Job description

The Electrical Engineering Intern will join the Federal Buildings team in St. Louis, focusing on innovative electrical engineering solutions for federal clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse tasks such as design, analysis, and layout of various electrical systems. Interns will collaborate with professional engineers and senior staff, applying theoretical knowledge to practical applications. This position is ideal for students looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program for Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a closely related major from an accredited program.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Familiarity with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ideally, a GPA of 3.0 or higher and completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Provide electrical system design support for Federal Buildings utilizing software such as CAD and Revit.
  • Draft electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and layout plans.
  • Prepare construction cost estimates and conduct code compliance reviews.
  • Perform field investigations and draft technical reports and memorandums.
  • Provide critical engineering support during the construction phase, including reviewing equipment submittals and responding to contractor RFIs.
