Job description
The Senior Resident Engineer will serve as the owner's representative in construction contracts, focusing on coordinating contractor efforts during construction, closeout, and occupancy. This role is part of a team that includes a Project Manager, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining quality standards. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and involves overseeing various construction activities and managing project documentation. The engineer will also be responsible for monitoring contractor performance and facilitating communication among stakeholders.
Requirements
- Must have at least 10 years of direct experience in relevant construction work such as passenger loading bridges and material conveyance systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of multiple project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build.
- Experience in reviewing contractor safety and quality control plans.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the administration of construction contracts and field inspection.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the efforts of contractors during construction and occupancy.
- Evaluate the progress and quality of construction activities against approved schedules and budgets.
- Monitor and report on contractor schedule performance.
- Create and maintain change management and risk registers.
- Review and approve progress payments and construction documents.
- Oversee quality assurance programs and conduct weekly construction meetings.
- Administer construction contracts and manage schedule updates.
