Job description

The Senior Structural Engineer role at Jacobs in Honolulu, Hawaii, focuses on leading and designing water and wastewater facilities. Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working as a structural engineer
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Structural Engineer (S.E.) licensed in Hawaii, or eligible to obtain license through reciprocity within six months of hire
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with a structural engineering emphasis, with a Master's degree in structural engineering highly desired
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems
  • Experience with structural design and analysis software such as STAAD.PRO, TEDDS, SAP2000, RAM Elements, RAM Structural System, and Mathcad
  • Experience with office programs including WORD, EXCEL, OneNote, Teams, and review software like Bluebeam
  • U.S. Citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of project-specific technical reports, calculations, construction drawings, and technical specifications
  • Design facilities such as water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities, and conveyance and storage systems
  • Collaborate with local and national experts to implement new solutions
  • Provide construction phase support services for various projects
  • Work effectively in multi-discipline project teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team learning
