Job description

The Transit and Rail Reliability Availability Maintainability Safety (RAMS) Engineering Professional at Jacobs will utilize specialized knowledge to support RAMS and System Assurance activities across various rail systems. This role involves leading project-level technical reviews and ensuring compliance with safety and reliability standards. The position requires interaction with clients to understand user requirements and support operations, maintenance, and testing activities. The team focuses on delivering complex projects that enhance the safety and efficiency of railway systems.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 9 years of work experience in Transit and Rail Engineering.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and 11 years of work experience in Transit and Rail Engineering.
  • Expertise in applying Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) engineering principles to railway systems.
  • Knowledge of international safety and reliability standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, and IEC 61508.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize specialized knowledge to perform and lead project level and technical review tasks to support RAMS and System Assurance activities.
  • Provide technical support for Pre-Shipment Inspections, Bench Test Equipment acceptance testing, and system commissioning.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of complex analyses and processes to deliver complex projects.
  • Support the development of System Assurance Specifications for railway projects, ensuring alignment with safety and performance standards.
