Job description

The Senior Software Engineer in the Trade Automation & Execution group at Bloomberg will focus on building and enhancing low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems for real-time trading. This team is responsible for designing and operating platforms that support automation, analytics, and execution workflows across various asset classes. Engineers will collaborate with peers to optimize system performance and contribute to cloud-native architectures. The role offers exposure to global financial markets and the opportunity to work on impactful engineering challenges.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend programming in an object-oriented language such as C++, Java, or Python, preferably on UNIX/Linux.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and scalable software design and architecture.
  • Experience with distributed systems, multi-threading, or performance-sensitive applications.
  • A solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
