Job description
The Mechanical HVAC Engineer will join the Buildings team at Jacobs, focusing on delivering innovative and sustainable mechanical system designs for various building types. This role involves collaboration with architects, engineers, and clients to create efficient HVAC solutions that enhance the quality of life in communities. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring technical quality and adherence to project schedules while working within a multidisciplinary team. Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in the design of HVAC systems for buildings.
- Extensive experience with Revit.
- Extensive experience with Load Calculation Software (Carrier HAP and/or Trane Trace).
- Thorough knowledge of codes and standards related to building mechanical systems.
Responsibilities
- Layout and design HVAC systems for a variety of building types, including commercial and healthcare.
- Develop design criteria for HVAC systems, including comfort heating and cooling.
- Prepare conceptual and preliminary design documents, including load calculations and equipment sizing.
- Produce final design documents, including specifications and construction drawings for mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure fully integrated building designs.
