Job description

The Software Equity Research Analyst role at Bloomberg Intelligence focuses on the infrastructure sector in North America. The analyst will be part of a global tech team that covers emerging technologies such as generative AI, cybersecurity, and autonomous driving. This position requires delivering high-quality research and financial models while collaborating with various stakeholders. A strong understanding of technology companies and financial analysis is essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • At least 3-4 years of experience with an advanced degree in a technology area.
  • Experience interpreting financial statements and financial modelling.
  • Knowledge of advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of finance and accounting.
  • Exceptional primary research and writing skills.
  • Self-starter, independent thinker and collaborative team player.
  • Strong organization skills, and capable of handling multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and other Asian languages for regional and China market coverage.
  • Demonstrated continuous career growth within an organization.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage knowledge of technology companies to actively create industry and company investment research on a regular basis.
  • Build a bottom-up financial model leveraging Bloomberg data for company primer initiation.
  • Monitor, interpret and react to major company developments, and identify macro themes and trends affecting investments in the region.
  • Work closely with the global Tech coverage manager to coordinate and collaborate on analysis.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with investors, industry and market professionals, investor relations personnel, and senior management at target companies.
  • Participate and initiate marketing events like webinars, round-tables and conferences to commercialize research ideas.
  • Work with Global Data teams to ensure data completeness and quality control for existing and new data sets of target companies.
