Microsoft AI is seeking an experienced Member of Technical Staff to contribute to the development of Copilot memory and personalization systems. The role involves working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment to create AI that evolves with user interactions. Candidates should be prepared to work in the Mountain View, CA office three days a week.

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• 4+ years of experience building APIs and creating pipelines for large-scale products.
• Experience building and deploying machine learning or large language model applications at scale.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale embedding, retrieval, and ranking systems.

• Design and build large-scale Copilot memory and personalization systems leveraging search, embeddings, retrieval, ranking, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation.
• Apply subject-matter expertise in cross-product features, collaborating with stakeholders to drive project and release plans.
• Hold accountability as a Designated Responsible Individual, mentoring engineers and monitoring system performance.
• Proactively seek out new knowledge and adapt to trends that improve product performance and reliability.
• Navigate ambiguity and clear roadblocks to deliver solutions quickly and iteratively.
