Job description

The Senior Environmental Engineer/Project Manager role at Jacobs focuses on supporting the waste solutions engineering design team in Orlando or Tampa, Florida. This position involves delivering solid waste projects, including landfill expansion, gas system design, and waste processing facility design. The successful candidate will collaborate with a multi-discipline design team and engage with clients to address complex design and construction issues. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to drive impactful environmental solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil design, environmental, or geotechnical engineering or a related engineering degree.
  • At least 15 years of experience including solid waste design projects.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in Florida.
  • Experience with site civil design and 3-D modeling.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design and engineering tasks for solid waste projects.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, and design practitioners of varying experience levels.
  • Engage with clients as either project manager or technical lead.
  • Prepare technical documents including engineering design documents and reports.
  • Mentor junior team members and coordinate with multiple design disciplines.
