The Responsible AI team at Microsoft is seeking experienced Applied Scientists to develop and implement AI technologies that adhere to ethical standards. This role focuses on fine-tuning large language models and ensuring the safety and security of AI agents. The team collaborates closely with engineering to deliver effective solutions at scale. Candidates will have the opportunity to work on transformative AI experiences that impact millions of users globally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computational Linguistics, or related field AND 2+ years related experience, OR Master's Degree in the same fields AND 1+ year(s) related experience, OR Doctorate in the same fields, OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C#.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks including PyTorch and Triton.
Responsibilities
- Conduct supervised fine-tuning of large language models and evaluate their performance.
- Collaborate with the tech lead on designing and implementing safety mitigations for AI agents.
- Work closely with the Responsible AI engineering team to deliver mitigations at scale.
- Refine existing implementations based on operational performance and troubleshoot end-to-end issues.
