Job description
The Senior Process Mechanical Engineer will be based in Irvine, California, focusing on the design and planning of pumping station systems and water treatment plants. This role involves leading process mechanical teams and overseeing project delivery while collaborating with various disciplines. The engineer will also mentor junior team members and set standards within the practice. The position offers an opportunity to work on significant projects that impact water resources across California and the West.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline from an accredited university or college.
- At least 11 years of experience designing water, wastewater, or stormwater pumping system projects.
- Active California professional engineering (PE) license.
- Experience with Hydraulic Institute standards.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
- Plan and design pumping station systems and water treatment plants.
- Prepare specifications, drawings, process instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and technical reports.
- Evaluate and select equipment, piping materials, and valves.
- Coordinate with other project disciplines and direct the work of CAD designers.
- Conduct field activities such as site assessments and data collection.
- Serve as the Process Mechanical Discipline Lead on projects.
