Job description
As a Cloud Network Engineer at Microsoft, you will play a crucial role in managing the corporate hybrid hosting infrastructures and ensuring seamless connectivity and workload migrations to Azure. You will be part of the Microsoft Infrastructure, Network and Tenant (MINT) team, which focuses on developing innovative solutions while maintaining service reliability. The role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and continuous improvement within a diverse team of engineers. Requirements
- 2+ years of technical experience in network design, development, and automation.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 2+ years of technical experience in network engineering, including layer 2 analysis and troubleshooting TCP/IP routing and switching.
- 2+ years of scripting skills in Perl, Python, PowerShell, or C# in both Linux and Windows environments is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge of networks, industry trends, and field data towards implementation and operations.
- Translate high-level design into low-level design and collaborate on hybrid connectivity and unified network fabric.
- Participate in network design or code reviews to ensure quality assurance.
- Monitor, analyze, debug, and troubleshoot network infrastructure, participating in on-call duties.
- Create root cause analysis for network incidents and drive continuous improvement of network components.
- Manage network deployments and work with machine-readable definitions of network deployment.
- Troubleshoot network routing protocols, including IPv4, IPv6, OSPF, BGP, and overlay technologies.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Infrastructure as Code practices, including designing and managing deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate within and across teams to share information and resolve conflicts.
- Mentor and provide feedback to other engineers while seeking mentorship and feedback for personal development.
