Job description
The Senior Software Engineer role in the Secure Production Access (SPA) team at Microsoft focuses on modernizing secure access experiences and ensuring the reliability of services used by engineers. The team is dedicated to enabling secure access to production environments while maintaining compliance and security. This position requires collaboration across various teams and ownership of complex technical areas. The role is based in Redmond, WA, and involves working from the office at least three days a week.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
- Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- 7+ years of professional experience in software/network engineering roles, with a focus on cloud networking and network security.
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure networking components.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Azure network infrastructure.
- Configure and administer network firewalls and proxy servers, VPN, enforce security policies, and monitor network traffic.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling to streamline network configurations, deployments, and monitoring.
- Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex network and infrastructure incidents.
- Continuously analyze network performance and security postures.
