The Software Engineer role at Microsoft focuses on developing an agentic AI platform to enhance developer productivity across the organization. The ideal candidate will have experience with AI-powered developer tools and a strong foundation in software engineering. Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Proven experience as a Software Engineer delivering large-scale, production-quality systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical direction and mentor peers in a collaborative team environment.
- Hands-on experience with AI-powered developer tooling and coding assistants.
- Familiarity with agentic AI development patterns and experience dogfooding emerging AI developer tools.
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver complete features across the development lifecycle, including design, architecture, implementation, testability, debugging, shipping, and servicing.
- Use AI in daily coding and advocate for best practices within the team and to customers.
- Demonstrate resiliency by experimenting with multiple AI approaches.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to engineers within and beyond the team.
- Write and review clean, well-thought-out code with an emphasis on quality, performance, simplicity, durability, scalability, and maintainability.
