Job description

As a Software Engineer II in the Calendar team at Microsoft, you will design and build AI-powered scheduling systems that integrate backend services and Large Language Models with APIs and Outlook services. This role focuses on delivering modern Microsoft Calendar experiences across Monarch and Microsoft Teams, enhancing intelligent coordination through tools like Copilot and Places. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Azure.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of engineering experience or equivalent experience with coding proficiency in relevant languages.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build scalable backend services that support AI-driven scheduling agents for millions of users.
  • Integrate large language models and machine learning models for intelligent scheduling experiences.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and AI advancements to enhance Copilot experiences.
  • Leverage Microsoft 365 Graph data to power Copilot and agent-based assistance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and partner teams to define user requirements.
  • Drive architectural decisions to ensure reliability, performance, and security.
  • Design and implement backend services for Microsoft Calendar experiences across various platforms.
  • Contribute to planning and execution by identifying dependencies and providing accurate estimations.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual to monitor systems and lead restoration efforts.
  • Champion Microsoft culture and values in all aspects of design and delivery.
