The Edge Web Platform team at Microsoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Rendering team. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, interoperable web experiences by enhancing how modern web content is rendered and interacted with across various platforms. Ideal candidates will have a passion for deep systems and performance work, and will contribute to the evolution of the Edge browser within the competitive AI ecosystem. The position emphasizes collaboration with engineers and program managers on open-source projects and engagement with standards communities.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
• Cross-platform development experience.
• Experience contributing to a large-scale software engineering project.
• Design, coding, and debugging skills in modern programming languages.

• Develop and improve web platform features in the Chromium rendering pipeline to bridge the gap between native applications and the web.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with engineers and program managers on open-source projects.
• Partner with standards and upstream communities (W3C, Chromium) to shape APIs and implementation details.
• Deliver web platform innovation in important areas of the browser engine with a focus on the needs of customers and web developers.
• Contribute directly to the Chromium project for aspects that can be shared with other Chromium-based browsers.
