Job description

The Process Engineer will focus on process sustaining and continuous improvement for Tesla's energy storage production line. Responsibilities include troubleshooting dimensional inaccuracies, optimizing production processes, and leading continuous improvement projects while collaborating with various engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Experience commissioning and optimizing equipment
  • Extensive experience in GD&T and tooling design for consistent dimension after MIG weld
  • 5+ years in an automated, high volume manufacturing facility
  • Able to read and interpret part and product 2/3D CAD

Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in manufacturing processes
  • Root Cause analysis of dimensional accuracy and subassembly variation
  • Analyze and optimize production processes to ensure safety while maximizing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
  • Lead continuous improvement activities to drive improvements to critical KPIs
  • Lead NCM activities, including documentation and troubleshooting of line fall out
  • Responsible for diagnosing issues found during the part manufacturing process
  • Design or redesign tooling, weld schedule and weld process order
  • Monitor and reduce process variation using techniques such as Statistical Process Control (SPC)
  • Support 24/7 production operations
