Tesla's Battery Electronics team is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead the design of high-voltage battery management PCBAs for various Tesla vehicles and energy products. The role involves end-to-end PCBA design, collaboration with multiple teams, and a focus on optimizing performance and cost.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- At least 8 years of hands-on industry experience in analog and digital circuit design
- Strong analytical, circuit analysis and simulation skills
- Superb failure analysis and PCBA troubleshooting skills
- Solid knowledge of Python for test automation and data analysis
- Experience in battery management systems, power electronics, microcontrollers and high-speed digital interfaces
- Experience designing RF circuits, antennas, and familiarity with common wireless communication protocols
- Experience using Altium Designer and LTSpice
- Experience using mechanical CAD tools (Fusion360, AutoCAD, or SolidWorks), fast prototyping and 3D printing
Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, build, and test high-voltage battery management electronics for Tesla vehicles and energy products
- Develop highly automated design validation setups and software to ensure comprehensive test coverage and reduced validation time
- Launch your designs to mass production
- Work with top automotive IC manufacturers to co-develop and integrate new technologies into next-generation Tesla Battery Management Systems (BMS)
