Meta is looking for a Network Engineer to enhance the operational reliability and support of its global production network infrastructure. The role involves incident response, change management, and automation initiatives across edge, caching, and backbone network infrastructure, requiring collaboration with various engineering and operations teams.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of work experience in operating, deploying, and designing large-scale network, optical, and/or physical layer infrastructure
• 4+ years of network operations experience while supporting large-scale service provider, datacenter, and/or enterprise network infrastructure
• Demonstrated skills to effectively engage with hardware vendors, service providers, and colocation facility vendors globally
• Intermediate subject matter expertise in Network Services, including topology, traffic analysis, hardware platform, and architectures
• 4+ years of experience with telecommunication networks in terrestrial optical transport networks including DWDM
• Subject matter expertise with physical infrastructure design: rack elevations, cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and facility infrastructure
• Familiarity with Enterprise and Service Provider network hardware platforms and architectures, including Cisco and Juniper routers/switches
• Experience with physical data center design: rack elevations, cabling, fiber optics, power/cooling, and facility infrastructure

• Drive incident response for complex technical and process issues on a global scale
• Identify problems and implement effective change within security and business continuity issues
• Drive operational efficiency and oversee a large contingent workforce responsible for delivering projects
• Set team goals and work globally with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes
• Design and implement processes that identify and manage data and asset protection risks
• Ensure operational processes, procedures, and policy documentation are effectively managed
• Analyze operational events to identify new automation opportunities
• Drive quality into the metrics reported to focus on areas that give the best return on investment
• Provide clear and effective communication around personal and team goals and progress
• Travel internationally and domestically as required
