JobsEngineering Manager - Client Delivery & Observability
Job description
Netflix is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the newly formed Client Delivery & Observability (CDO) team, which focuses on release delivery and real-time observability systems. The role involves building a unified team identity, setting direction across two technical domains, and rationalizing a combined roadmap to support Netflix's expanding services.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software or data engineering experience with strong depth in distributed systems and large-scale data processing or CI/CD infrastructure.
- 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
- Domain experience in at least one of: real-time data pipelines, release automation and CI/CD infrastructure, or experimentation platforms.
- Demonstrable experience leading efforts to build shared tooling, infrastructure, or platform features that enable other engineering teams to move faster and more reliably.
- Experience managing or coordinating multiple sub-teams or squads with distinct charters, and coaching or developing tech leads.
- Experience leading distributed or hybrid engineering teams across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities
- Lead a newly formed team spanning two squads with distinct technical domains, hiring, coaching, and growing a high-performing team of engineers.
- Develop and execute a unified roadmap that balances release delivery infrastructure and real-time observability systems.
- Build strong relationships across a wide stakeholder surface and translate complex partner requirements into actionable engineering goals.
- Own the reliability and operational health of the team's production systems, driving incident response practices and establishing service-level objectives.
Benefits
- Employees at Netflix are often offered flexible, people-first benefits—unlimited time away, generous parental leave, global family-forming support, mental-health programs (mindfulness, free counseling/coaching), and health coverage tailored by country. Financially, Netflix pays at personal top-of-market and lets employees choose their mix of cash vs. fully-vested 10-year stock options, alongside donation and volunteer matching. Convenience perks can include trust-based travel/expense policies, relocation support, and “Work, Not Drive” rideshare flexibility.
