Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join their Power Delivery team. This role focuses on coordinating and developing power system planning and study activities, primarily for clients in North America. The engineer will collaborate with various departments, including Substation Engineering and Renewables teams, to deliver comprehensive power system studies. The position also involves performing feasibility studies and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of direct experience in power system study analysis and planning.
- Proficiency with the PSS®E software package, including load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analysis.
- Experience with alternative planning software applications such as TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with key North American Market Operators' policies, guidelines, and regulations related to grid interconnection and planning.
Responsibilities
- Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for various clients.
- Perform and review power systems analysis activities including load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analysis.
- Conduct planning/system performance studies for compliance with prevailing standards and good engineering practices.
- Deliver accurate planning, studies, system design, and client report summaries that meet industry standards.
- Maintain close coordination with other Arcadis Business Units for cross-selling and staffing opportunities.
