The role focuses on enhancing the search experience within Uber Eats, transforming it into an adaptive and intuitive platform that understands user intent. The Search Experience team is responsible for the presentation layer of search, ensuring high performance and reliability across global and in-store search. This position involves close collaboration with various teams to create trustworthy and high-converting user experiences. The goal is to modernize the foundations of search while building a seamless interface for Natural Language Search.

• Experience building and operating consumer-facing products at scale with a focus on latency and availability.
• Ability to use A/B tests and data to drive decisions and define success metrics.
• Proven capability to manage work across client and server boundaries, including API design.
• Experience in building high-performance, reliable user-facing web experiences.
• Strong leadership skills to drive cross-functional projects without relying on authority.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clarify plans and decisions.
• High engineering judgment with a focus on quality and pragmatism.

• Lead cross-functional initiatives that span UX, engineering, and measurement.
• Own end-to-end slices across the presentation path, including client-server contracts.
• Set technical direction for performance, reliability, and experimentation readiness.
• Improve foundational aspects to reduce recurring failure modes.
• Collaborate with PM, Design, UXR, Data Science, and Ranking/Relevance teams.
• Mentor team members through design reviews, code reviews, and reusable patterns.
