Job description

The Rider Pricing & Incentives team at Uber focuses on optimizing rider pricing and promotions through advanced machine learning and data science. In this role, you will lead a team to improve pricing algorithms and promotional systems, driving revenue and ridership growth. You will work on machine learning technologies, including deep learning and reinforcement learning, to enhance pricing strategies. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the business by collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior members.

Requirements

  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field with 7+ years of full-time engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or Go.
  • Experience with machine learning and optimization algorithms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a group of software engineers and machine learning engineers to develop and implement new machine learning and optimization techniques.
  • Improve the performance of models and algorithms powering pricing algorithms and promotion targeting.
  • Own the problem end-to-end, including working with cross-functional teams to define the product and/or technical roadmap.
  • Mentor junior team members by role modeling machine learning best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and drive Uber's ridership and revenue growth.
