Job description

As a Senior iOS Engineer at Uber, you will play a crucial role in shaping the autonomous vehicle rider experience from start to finish. You will lead the design and development of iOS applications, focusing on booking flows and real-time trip updates. This position emphasizes a metrics-driven approach to engineering, where you will collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend teams. Additionally, you will mentor junior engineers and drive data-driven iterations to enhance user experiences.

Requirements

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ in iOS development
  • Proficiency in platform-specific architecture patterns and frameworks such as Swift and UIKit
  • Understanding of user experience and performance optimization on mobile devices
  • Self-starter mindset with a bias for shipping impactful features

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of end-to-end AV rider experiences, including booking flows and on-trip interactions.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and backend leads to own product outcomes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the broader technical strategy.
  • Drive rigorous experimentation and data-driven iteration across experience surfaces.
