Job description

The Core Security Engineering team at Uber is dedicated to securing the production environment by providing industry-leading products and services. The team focuses on building security primitives and user products that empower Uber engineers to enhance service security and trust. This role involves working on critical distributed services at scale, making long-term decisions on infrastructure, and ensuring the operational efficiency of foundational security services. Candidates will engage in coding, design, architecture, and collaboration to drive technical and business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field and minimum 6+ years of full-time Software Engineering work experience.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C/C++.
  • Experience in large-scale systems, scalability, and reliability.
  • Participation in on-call rotations for critical T0-T1 services.
  • Some experience in the security field, including IAM, Authentication, Authorization, and Cryptography.
  • Experience in mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience in leading medium-large projects and project planning.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer and business requirements.
  • Create and promote efficiency and speed within the team by improving existing solutions.
