The Delivery Presentation organization at Uber is seeking a full-stack Principal Engineer to define the strategy and technology for building consumer-facing products within Uber Eats and other platforms. This role involves working at the intersection of user experience, backend presentation, and developer frameworks. The focus is on delivering a seamless experience across various applications while reducing engineering complexity and enhancing developer velocity. The Principal Engineer will lead complex projects and influence the future of the Uber Eats consumer experience.

• 15+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• Experience owning tech strategy, end to end delivery, and partnering with senior leadership
• Proven ability to provide technical and strategic oversight for a high-performing global team of hundreds of engineers
• Subject matter expertise in client-side technologies (Web, iOS, and/or Android) and presentational backends

• Architect and drive the long-term technical vision and roadmap for the presentation platform architecture
• Lead the design and implementation of novel systems that span backend, native mobile code, and webviews
• Challenge technical conventions while optimizing for low-latency server-driven UX
• Explore bold bets such as A2UI and/or other Generative UI opportunities
• Spearhead complex, cross-functional projects that require influencing and aligning multiple engineering organizations
• Build foundational platforms and tools for product teams to rapidly prototype and scale new customer-facing experiences
• Serve as the ultimate subject matter expert on client-side and product engineering
• Solve sophisticated technical challenges in a distributed system that supports tens of thousands of microservices
• Influence the future of the Uber Eats consumer experience through partnership with Design & Product leadership
