Job description

Arcadis is seeking a highly motivated Principal System Planning and Studies Engineer to join the Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior lead technical position involves direct interaction with the power delivery team, focusing on system planning and studies for utility and developer clients in North America. The role emphasizes project management, technical solution development, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. The candidate will also mentor junior team members and engage in business development activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in Power System Planning and Studies
  • Experience with key North American US Market Operators policies and regulations
  • Proficient with PSCAD and PSS®E software packages
  • PE License certification is required
  • Ph.D. degree in Power Systems is strongly preferred
  • HVDC experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the System Planning & Studies team.
  • Perform and coordinate HVAC and HVDC power systems analysis activities.
  • Lead the continuous development of enhanced power system planning processes and methodologies.
  • Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, Program Manager, and Technical Lead.
  • Conduct quality assurance/quality control on the work of other system planning engineers.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and vendors to support business development.
  • Work with the PD&R Leader to develop plans for client development and account growth.
