Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Control Systems Engineer/Programmer to join their Resilience Water Business Line in Phoenix, AZ. The role focuses on providing senior-level process control systems programming and design for water collection, treatment, and distribution. The ideal candidate will work within a multi-discipline team environment and support various projects related to water and wastewater facilities. This position offers an opportunity to mentor junior engineers and contribute to the advancement of plant automation efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering.
  • Strong educational background with an emphasis on computer controls, logic systems, and industrial controls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, MS Project, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects and clients in the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities.
  • Provide engineering services during construction phases, including reviewing equipment submittals and responding to contractor RFIs.
  • Develop and review unit process control logic within PLC platforms and design graphical HMIs and reporting solutions.
  • Create clear and accurate documentation and technical memorandums for SCADA projects.
  • Perform factory acceptance testing, field checkout, commissioning, and troubleshooting of process control systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and prepare budgets, cost estimates, and execution strategies for SCADA and instrumentation control assignments.
  • Develop technical and design criteria including P&IDs, SCADA block diagrams, and control narratives.
