Job description

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Project Environmental Engineer to join their Department of Energy design team. This role involves collaborating with scientists, engineers, and project managers on environmental assessment and remediation projects. The engineer will focus on process-mechanical and civil engineering tasks, including detailed design and project management. The position requires a self-starter with leadership qualities who is willing to mentor junior staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil Engineering or closely related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and appropriate annual refresher certifications preferred
  • Engineer-In-Training certification or Professional Engineering license preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD or Revit preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead remedial system design and assessments in collaboration with project managers and senior staff.
  • Develop detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and design calculations.
  • Prepare startup plans and standard operating procedures under senior guidance.
  • Conduct feasibility research on alternative design approaches and evaluate site conditions.
  • Coordinate and participate in field activities including onsite treatment system startups.
  • Supervise contractors and vendors for site characterization and excavation oversight.
