Job description

Arcadis is seeking a Project Water Engineer to join their Water team in southern California, specifically in Los Angeles and Irvine. This role focuses on delivering design work for water, wastewater, and reuse clients across North America. The engineer will utilize their technical expertise to protect natural water resources while addressing challenges posed by climate change and urbanization. The position involves both fieldwork and project management responsibilities to ensure successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to commute to project sites
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering
  • EIT Certification
  • Preferred: PE License in California
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree in Engineering
  • Preferred: 8 years of water/reuse industry-related experience

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, plan, design, and support management of projects for drinking water, wastewater, and reuse treatment and conveyance.
  • Exercise judgement on details of work and make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Complete technical and report writing with guidance from more senior team members.
  • Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits, construction inspection, and water quality analyses.
  • Support professional engineering services during construction including construction observation and review of shop drawings.
  • Manage tasks as a project resource to meet budget, timeframe, and quality objectives.
  • Carry out investigations and analyses to support the development of technical solutions.
  • Prepare documentation and reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with Arcadis requirements.
  • Liaise with project managers/team leaders and clients to ensure effective communication on project matters.
  • Contribute to the resolution of technical issues on projects and provide technical guidance to other team members.
