Job description

Arcadis is seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer / Certified Project Manager to join the Commonwealth Edison team. This role involves planning and managing geotechnical investigations and preparing detailed reports to support electrical infrastructure construction in northern Illinois. The position requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. As part of the Resilience Environment team, the candidate will contribute to improving quality of life through sustainable solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Current Illinois P.E. license or ability to obtain Illinois P.E. license.
  • Current Arcadis CPM designation.
  • 7+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
  • Proficiency with technical report writing.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with clients and internal teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage geotechnical investigations.
  • Perform desktop analysis of soil and rock properties.
  • Prepare detailed geotechnical investigation reports including recommendations.
  • Interact with national and global technical project teams.
  • Meet demanding schedule expectations while managing multiple projects.
