Job description
Arcadis is seeking a Traffic and Transportation Engineering Intern to join their team in Seattle, WA. This role involves assisting the traffic and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) group in conducting traffic studies and preparing plans. Interns will work closely with project managers and senior engineers to gain insights into the transportation industry while contributing to projects that enhance mobility and sustainability. The position is part of the Mobility global business area, focusing on designing connected and sustainable solutions for urban environments.
Requirements
- Seeking a degree in civil or transportation engineering
- Familiarity with CAD and PDF markup tools such as Bluebeam
- Basic understanding of networking and communications system concepts
Responsibilities
- Support design and documentation tasks for ITS and transit technology projects
- Assist with reviewing contractor submittals and shop drawings against project requirements
- Help develop and organize technical deliverables such as requirements matrices and design narratives
- Research engineering standards and emerging transportation technologies to support active projects
- Use data and mapping tools to support project coordination and systems analysis
- Assist senior engineers and project managers with day-to-day coordination across multidisciplinary project teams
